Understanding CGPA Calculation Formula
CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) is the weighted average of your performance across all semesters. Unlike a simple average, it takes into account the Credit Hours of each course.
CGPA = Σ (Grade Point × Credits) ÷ Σ (Total Credits)Example Calculation: If you have one 3-credit course with an A (3.75) and one 1-credit lab with an A+ (4.00):
Total Points = (3.75 × 3) + (4.00 × 1) = 11.25 + 4.00 = 15.25
CGPA = 15.25 ÷ 4 credits = 3.81

What is the CGPA scale in Bangladesh universities?
Almost all public and private universities in Bangladesh, including DU, BUET, and NSU, use a 4.00 CGPA scale. Some engineering departments previously used a 5.00 scale, but the 4.00 scale is now the UGC standard.
How to calculate CGPA for National University (NU)?
